The Verdict: No Instagram growth service gets a clean pass, so the best one is the one whose method you can live with. Path Social, UpGrow and SimplyGram say they need only your username, while Kicksta, Upleap, Nitreo and Ampfluence log in as you, which Instagram says can get an account limited or disabled. Kicksta on a monthly plan is the login-based pick for one established account, SimplyGram has the cleanest no-password terms at a steep $69 a week, and a brand-new account should grow on its own first.
What is an Instagram growth service: A paid service that tries to win you followers, either by acting from your Instagram account or by getting other accounts to promote yours.

The best Instagram growth service for you depends on a detail most comparison pages skip, which is whether the service logs in to your account.

Four of the seven services below need your Instagram password. Ampfluence goes further, and its own FAQ says you cannot keep two-factor authentication switched on while its team works.

Instagram is blunt about where that leads. Its help page on growth apps says accounts that hand their login to apps offering likes or followers can be limited, and that “your account may be disabled or terminated.” I weigh that one sentence above any follower estimate a pricing page shows.

The terms pages hold a second surprise. Kicksta, Upleap and Nitreo all sell themselves as organic growth. Yet their own terms offer add-on packages that give “an immediate increase in follower count through active accounts” from followers “not based on targeted engagement criteria.”

Below you will find each service’s method, price, trial, refund terms and Trustpilot status as listed on October 22, 2026, plus the rules Instagram and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) apply. Creator Tribune earns a commission if you sign up through the Upleap links on this page.

That does not change any verdict, and no ranking on this site is ever sold.

Best Instagram Growth Services Compared on Passwords and Refunds

What Is the Best Instagram Growth Service?

Kicksta on monthly billing is the pick for one established account you accept risking, SimplyGram if you will not share a password, and no paid service suits a new account.

None of the seven is safe, cheap and well reviewed at once, and the table below lays out how each one works and what it costs.

Service How it gets followers Needs your password? Lowest listed price Trustpilot, Oct 22
Kicksta Follows, likes and unfollows from your account Yes $39 a month billed yearly, $69 month to month 1.9 from 628 reviews
Upleap Follows, likes, unfollows and welcome DMs from your account Yes $19 a month billed $229 yearly, $39 month to month 2.9 from 150 reviews
Nitreo Same system and same terms as Upleap Yes $39 or $69 a month, depending on which table you read 2.2 from 148 reviews
Ampfluence Staff log in and like, comment, follow and unfollow Yes, with two-factor turned off $249 a month 2.4 from 6 reviews
Path Social Influencer shoutouts and email newsletters No, your handle only $29 a month billed yearly Rating withheld for a guidelines breach
UpGrow Targeting it describes as AI follows, likes and comments Says no $69 for the first month Rating withheld, fake reviews removed
SimplyGram Micro-influencers share your profile No, per its terms $69 a week Profile removed

I put the password column right after the method because it decides whether Instagram’s rules on third-party apps apply to you at all. Here is how I match these services to the account in front of me:

  1. One established account, and you accept the login risk: Kicksta on monthly billing, which our Kicksta review covers. Skip it for a new or recently restricted account.
  2. The same method for less: Upleap at $39 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly, if you accept that every cancellation goes through its support team.
  3. You will not share a password: a promotion network such as SimplyGram or Path Social, knowing the new followers come from shoutouts rather than your own outreach.
  4. Several client accounts at once: SMTasker, a tool you operate yourself, separate from the seven services above. It runs accounts from Android phones you connect and suits operators with many accounts more than single creators. Because it still runs those accounts for you, the same limit-or-disable risk applies to every client account you connect.
  5. A new, small or recently restricted account: none of these yet. Grow it yourself first and clear any restriction before paying anyone.
  6. A big budget and no time: Ampfluence at $249 a month, if you accept its staff logging in with two-factor authentication turned off.

Whichever line fits, read the cancellation terms below before you enter a card.

Do Instagram Growth Services Need Your Password?

Four of the seven services need your Instagram password: Kicksta, Upleap, Nitreo and Ampfluence.

Path Social and SimplyGram say they work from your handle alone, and UpGrow’s own page gives two different answers.

Instagram growth services that need your password

Kicksta does not hide it, and its pricing page, FAQ and terms all say it needs your password. Upleap’s terms of service say the same and add that “You consent to a login from one of Our hubs, which may be in a different geographical region.”

Ampfluence asks for the most. Its FAQ answers “Do I need to share my username and password?” with “Yes. Access to your account is required,” and “Can I keep 2-factor authentication (2FA) enabled?” with “Unfortunately not.” That last answer bothers me most, because two-factor authentication is the setting that stops a leaked password from working on its own.

The two camps accuse each other. The same Ampfluence FAQ warns that any company offering its service “without logging into your account” is “using BOTS!!!” Path Social’s pricing page answers that “Any service that asks for your Instagram password or uses any kind of automation or bots is violating Instagram Terms of Service.”

The no-password side has its own wrinkle. UpGrow’s growth service page says it “never asks for your password,” and further down it says its “military-grade security protocols protect your login credentials.” Path Social keeps it short on its pricing page: “We just need to know your handle.”

Instagram’s growth apps help page covers both routes. Giving an app your login, “whether with an access token or by giving them your username and password,” lets it “gain complete access to your account.” If you already handed one over, the hacked account guide walks through taking the account back.

I treat a password request as a request for the account itself. If you would not hand a stranger your phone, do not hand them this.

Can an Instagram Growth Service Get Your Account Banned?

Yes, a growth service that acts from your account can get it limited, disabled or terminated, and Instagram says so in its own help center.

Its help page on these apps warns that accounts using them “may notice that certain parts of their Instagram account are limited.”

Instagram’s own pages spell the rules out. Its Terms of Use ban “accessing or collecting information in an automated way without our express permission.” Its data scraping help page gives one reason an account gets restricted as “You may have provided your username and password to a third-party app or website.”

Hand-run services are not exempt. Ampfluence’s Instagram growth page says “we have never had an account locked or suspended because we do everything manually,” but Meta’s spam policy covers engaging with content “either manually or automatically, at very high frequencies.” I would not connect any account I could not afford to lose, whoever does the clicking.

Instagram has enforced this for years. On November 19, 2018, it announced it would start “removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity,” and asked those accounts to change their passwords. Follow and unfollow tools also run into Instagram’s hard cap of 7,500 accounts followed.

Big follower promises are the other warning sign. Path Social and UpGrow print 1,000 to 2,000 followers a month on their cheapest plans, while SimplyGram’s terms say it “does not guarantee any specific outcome.” Slow, uneven growth is what real people following you looks like.

If a service already got you blocked, disconnect it, change your password and wait the block out without retrying. The action block guide covers how long blocks last, and disabled account recovery covers the worst case.

How Do Instagram Growth Services Get You Followers?

Instagram growth services use three methods: software that follows and likes from your account, staff who log in and do it by hand, or promotion from other people’s accounts.

The method sets your risk more than the price does.

  1. Automation from your account. Kicksta, Upleap and Nitreo follow people in your niche, like their posts and later unfollow those who do not follow back. Upleap’s pricing page lists “Follow/Unfollow Automation,” “Welcome DM Automation” and a “Growth pods network” among its features.
  2. Staff working from your login. Ampfluence says on its FAQ that “Our team will follow accounts, then unfollow those accounts that do not reciprocate,” done by people rather than software.
  3. Promotion networks. Path Social says it posts “shoutouts to your content from our 13,000+ influencers” and features you in newsletters it says reach “9MM+” (9 million) subscribers. SimplyGram says it taps “our exclusive network of 15,000+ verified micro-influencers,” who share your profile with their followers.

A fourth method sits in the fine print. Kicksta’s terms sell “Boost Network packages” that “provide an immediate increase in follower count through active accounts,” and Upleap and Nitreo sell “On-Demand Followers” with the same wording.

UpGrow’s page points buyers who want “an instant boost on one post” to the UpGrow shop, “from 50 likes for $1.99.”

To me, those add-ons are the most useful lines on any of these sites. A service that sells instant followers on the side is telling you how it defines growth. If clearing out junk followers is your problem already, the bot follower cleanup is the place to start.

Which Instagram Growth Services Are Worth Paying For?

None of the seven earns an unreserved yes, but Kicksta for one established account and SimplyGram for a strict no-password rule come closest on their written terms.

Each short review below covers the method, the catch and who it suits.

Is Kicksta Worth It for One Instagram Account?

Kicksta is worth a monthly trial only for one established Instagram account you could afford to lose.

It runs follow and unfollow from your account with your password, and it costs $69 a month, or $39 a month when you pay $468 for a year.

The 7-day trial needs a card and covers monthly and quarterly plans only. Kicksta holds 1.9 from 628 reviews on Trustpilot, and its terms sell the instant-follower Boost packages described above.

My view has not moved since our full review: one established account, monthly billing, nothing else.

I pick it over the cheaper, better-rated Upleap for one reason. Kicksta’s terms let you cancel from the dashboard in the 48 hours before renewal, while Upleap’s send every cancellation through support.

On a subscription you may want out of fast, that control is worth $30 a month to me, even with Kicksta’s rating a full point lower.

Is Upleap Legit for Instagram Growth?

Upleap is a real, working service, but it runs the same password-based follow and unfollow system as Nitreo at a lower entry price.

Plans start at $39 a month, or $19 a month billed $229 yearly, per its pricing page.

Its terms say the 7-day free trial “will automatically convert into an active, paid subscription unless cancelled.” They also say “direct cancellation through the client dashboard is not available,” so every cancellation goes through support.

Upleap holds 2.9 from 150 reviews on Trustpilot, and I count the support-only cancellation as its biggest catch.

If you still want it, start the trial on Upleap with an account you could stand to lose.

Is Nitreo Different From Upleap?

Nitreo is not meaningfully different from Upleap, since its terms match Upleap’s word for word apart from the brand name.

Both name the same operator, “SocialGrowth LLC FZ,” at the same Dubai address.

Nitreo’s pricing page lists $39 a month in one table and $69 in another, and the site offers a 7-day free trial. It holds 2.2 from 148 reviews on Trustpilot.

I see no reason to pick Nitreo over Upleap when the terms match and Nitreo’s own pages cannot agree on its price.

Is Ampfluence Worth $249 a Month?

Ampfluence is worth $249 a month only if you want staff working your account by hand and you accept handing them the login.

Its Instagram growth page lists the Growth plan at $249 a month, with “Avg. 250+ Organic Followers” printed beside it.

The money terms are strict. Its FAQ says “we cannot provide refunds for work performed,” and its terms say “To cancel your account you must contact Ampfluence in writing 30 days prior to the cancellation date.”

That 30-day notice is the clause I would read twice before paying, and the 2.4 from 6 reviews on Trustpilot is too small a sample to settle anything.

Is Path Social Legit?

Path Social is a real promotion service that never asks for your password, but Trustpilot currently withholds its rating for a breach of its guidelines.

Its Core plan costs $29 a month billed yearly, and its pricing page promises growth within 7 days “or we’ll give you a refund.”

Its Trustpilot profile carries the notice “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.” In one r/SocialMediaMarketing thread, a buyer wrote that “95% of the followers we got had … private profiles.” I like that Path Social never touches the login, and I would screenshot that refund promise before paying.

Is UpGrow Legit for Instagram?

UpGrow is a working service with a 7-day money-back promise, but its page contradicts itself on passwords and Trustpilot has removed fake reviews from its profile.

Its first month costs $69 on Basic, $99 on Pro and $129 on Turbo, with a full refund “if you see no net-positive growth after the first 7 days.”

UpGrow’s growth page also says “UpGrow’s AI engages with targeted accounts through strategic follows, likes, and comments” without saying whose account those follows come from.

UpGrow’s Trustpilot page reads “We’ve removed a number of fake reviews for this company.”

In an r/SocialMediaMarketing thread, a former customer wrote that the new followers “seemed to be bots” and that charges started again long after the subscription was cancelled.

A page that cannot agree with itself about passwords does not get my money.

How Does SimplyGram Grow an Instagram Account?

SimplyGram pays micro-influencers in your niche to share your profile, and its terms say it never uses your password or automates anything on your account.

Plans cost $69, $99 or $199 a week for 10, 20 or 50 micro-influencers, after a 3-day free trial.

Its terms are the cleanest in this group. They state that SimplyGram “does not request or use your Instagram account password, does not post on your behalf, and does not automate engagement on your profile.”

They also offer a 30-day satisfaction refund and let you cancel by email at least one day before the next charge.

Trustpilot has removed its profile entirely, and I still balk at roughly $299 a month for shoutouts.

How Much Does an Instagram Growth Service Cost?

An Instagram growth service costs about $19 to $299 a month at the entry level, from Upleap’s yearly Basic rate ($39 month to month) to SimplyGram’s $69 a week.

The bigger difference sits in the fine print, in how you cancel and when you can get money back.

Lowest monthly prices of Instagram growth services
Service Trial How you cancel Refund rule
Kicksta 7 days, card required, monthly and quarterly only Support, or the dashboard in the 48 hours before renewal Case by case; prepaid quarters and years are non-refundable
Upleap 7 days, then converts to paid Support only Case by case within 30 days; multi-month plans are non-refundable
Nitreo 7 days Same terms as Upleap Same terms as Upleap
Ampfluence None listed In writing, 30 days before the cancellation date No refunds for work performed
Path Social None listed Not stated on its pricing page Refund if no growth within 7 days
UpGrow None listed Not stated on its growth page Full refund if no net-positive growth after 7 days
SimplyGram 3 days, then weekly billing Email or contact form, one day before billing 30-day satisfaction refund on the latest paid period

Kicksta’s terms add that “Yearly, quarterly, and other plans that are charged for several months up-front are offered at a significant discount, and as such, are non-refundable.” Upleap and Nitreo use the same rule. I always start month to month for exactly this reason.

Example scenario: You start trials on Upleap and SimplyGram on the same Monday. SimplyGram’s 3-day trial bills its first $69 week on Thursday, so its terms need your cancellation email by Wednesday, with the 30-day satisfaction refund as the fallback if you miss it. Upleap’s 7-day trial converts the next Monday, only its support team can stop it, and on the yearly plan the $229 then falls under its non-refundable multi-month rule.

The cheapest yearly price is only cheap if you stay all year, so price the first month, not the twelfth. None of the seven is free beyond a trial or refund window.

Is an Instagram Growth Service Better Than Buying Followers?

Yes, a real growth service beats buying followers, because bought followers can break US federal rules and Instagram removes them.

The FTC’s rule on reviews and testimonials, effective October 21, 2024, bans buying or selling “fake indicators of social media influence” for a commercial purpose. Its definition counts followers, likes and views from bots or hijacked accounts.

Meta also goes after sellers directly. On October 20, 2020, it filed lawsuits against four people selling fake engagement, describing one service that “used a network of bots to automate the delivery of likes and followers.”

Instagram’s help center adds that the activity of inauthentic accounts is “removed from Instagram” once they are discovered, which is one reason follower counts drop without warning.

For a new account, I put the free route ahead of every service on this page. Doing the growth work yourself costs hours instead of dollars, and if you want to pay for reach, a boosted post is the route Instagram sells itself, when boosting is open to you.

Whichever route you pick, give new followers somewhere to land that you own, such as a creator money page that turns them into email subscribers.

Quick Takeaways

  • Kicksta, Upleap, Nitreo and Ampfluence log in as you, which Instagram’s help center says can get an account limited, disabled or terminated.
  • Kicksta, Upleap and Nitreo sell instant-follower add-ons in their own terms, despite marketing organic growth.
  • Trustpilot withholds the ratings of Path Social and UpGrow and has removed SimplyGram’s profile, so read every star rating on a vendor page with care.
  • Check the exit terms before paying: Upleap and Nitreo cancel only through support, Ampfluence wants 30 days’ written notice, and prepaid multi-month plans from Kicksta, Upleap and Nitreo are non-refundable.
  • Pick by risk: Kicksta month to month for one established account, SimplyGram if you will not share a password, and your own work for a new account.
